
All riders visit the Gordon, Wooden, and Pleasants Valleys.
Century riders additionally will visit the lovely and historic Napa
Valley. Both longer and shorter versions of this ride incorporate the popular Pleasants Valley loop; I rode this loop as my first metric century, and I continue to prize it as a favorite.
North Bay Coastal Valleys.
This region, featuring world-famous vineyards, offers some of the most popular bicycling roads to be found in northern California.
Raley's Plaza, North Texas Street and Dickson Hill Road, Fairfield.
Take I-80 west from Sacramento to the North Texas Street
off-ramp in Fairfield. Turn left onto North Texas Street, cross I-80, and proceed to Dickson Hill Road.
Turn left onto Dickson Hill Road; then immediately turn right into Raley's Plaza.
Climbing: 55 Mile Ride: 2,825 feet.
96 Mile Ride: 5,235 feet.
Difficulty: moderate. Both rides are similar in difficulty. Moderately fit riders should be able to complete these rides.
There are two notable descents: Oakville Grade (~15%) on the 96 mile ride, and "Cardiac Hill," east of Moskowite Corner, on both rides.
