Biking east from Mile 13.5 - shortly after crossing Rossmore Drive - you will be reminded that much of the eastern American River Parkway Bike Trail is built upon previously dredged land (photo left).
After a short section of Folsom Blvd you will ride Iron Point Road, which parallels Highway 50 and passes by Intel's campus and by Folsom High School. On the east side of East Bidwell Street take the sidewalk to Placerville Road.
Quiet and picturesque, Placerville Road is one of the nicest bicycling roads in this region.
To the east you will view the transmission towers (photo right) familiar to eastbound US-50 motorists.
Placerville Road (photo below) still retains much of the unspoiled, undeveloped appearance of years past; I fear this will change if Folsom expands south.

Turning left onto White Rock Road, initial views remain bucolic (photo below).

Over the hill development becomes visible - but the distant hills remain (as of now) pristine (photo below).

A right turn onto Latrobe Road conveys you through tiny Latrobe and, after a nice descent, to the Cosumnes River (photo below).

The climb south from the Cosumnes River takes you to Old Sacramento Road (photo below) - an especially pleasant rural road.

Old Sacramento Road conveys you to Plymouth and ride's end (photo below: Plymouth's Sharkey Park).
